Houston-based NanoTech Materials develops and manufactures resilient, high-performance advanced materials that tackle the most urgent challenges in energy efficiency and fire mitigation. After a negative experience with another firm, the executive team contracted with Penman PR. Their objectives were to establish a strong brand image, build media relations specific to the company’s objectives, and tell the NanoTech story in as many influential outlets as possible. Their specific PR goals were to secure 10 bylined articles and six interviews in top-tier media outlets. We felt we could take the company’s PR campaign further.

After we conducted media introductions and implemented a press release/pitch topic strategy, we submitted NanoTech Materials’ core technology for applicable awards. TIME magazine recognized NanoTech Materials for its Insulative Ceramic Particle (ICP) technology, highlighting its innovative use in fire-resistant and energy-saving coatings like Wildfire Shield and Cool Roof Coat, and for solving challenges in construction and climate change by enhancing material performance at the nanoscale. The innovation showcased how the company’s engineered materials, engineered at the atomic level, created advanced solutions for modern problems, from improving electronics and healthcare to tackling environmental issues such as fire risk and energy efficiency.

We garnered 15 pieces of coverage within 9 months, reaching an audience of 423 million. We continued working on the campaign for an additional 5 months, during which we secured 10 pieces of coverage, increasing audience reach to another 93 million.
