Hardcore Computer
Hardcore Computer is a computer manufacturer out of Rochester, MN that combined their military / aerospace, medical device and computer expertise to develop the first commercially available total liquid submersion high-performance desktop PC - Reactor™. Hardcore Computer sought to launch Reactor™, develop a brand with early adopter, hardcore PC gamers, and generate sales through its online product configurator.
The Strategy
Implement an aggressive press release / pitch and product review strategy that pro-actively promotes the product widely and strongly enough to result in sales.
The Campaign
We conducted a pre-launch media tour in San Francisco to showcase Reactor™. The event was extremely well attended by editors from Wired, Wall Street Journal, Extreme Tech, PC World and others. We embargoed the launch release to give each publication’s review team ample time to play with the machine, interview company executives and write reviews and articles.
The Result
Within three months of launch, Hardcore Computer received some serious global media attention, which resulted directly in sales that met the company’s pre-determined revenue goals. Below is a small fraction of the total media received during launch.
