A campaign that holds much pride for us is one we implemented for the Czech Republic. We worked with CzechInvest, the Investment and Business Development Agency of the Czech Republic's Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The Czech Republic was experiencing a public reputation that did not fully represent the depth of the country’s offering, and it sought to deepen an understanding of the nation's business landscape and engineering prowess in order to attract US businesses.
The Campaign
The PR campaign was designed to attract and retain foreign investment and the development of Czech companies. In order to reach these objectives, Penman publicized key studies on the Czech Republic's human resource assets and leadership in math and science; announced foreign direct investment wins; and maintained ongoing communications with national and international business editors in our country’s most highly read and influential media outlets. Throughout the course of the campaign, we secured feature articles and mentions across the top 25 U.S. business outlets; organized an international press conference with high-ranking Czech government officials/agencies; and developed a series of high-impact backgrounders on the nation's economy.
The Results
It pleases us to report that within 12 months of campaign start, the Czech Republic was ranked by the annual European Cities Monitor (ECM) as the second most competitive country in Central and Eastern Europe, and Prague was ranked 13th among 33 European cities in terms of conditions for running a business. Additionally, the International Monetary Funds (IMF) forecasted the Czech economy as one of the fastest growing in Europe.
